Running for Phoebe

In July 2026, my family received the devastating news that my three-year-old niece, Phoebe, has been diagnosed with stage 4, high-risk neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer.

Phoebe is currently undergoing a long and intensive course of treatment in the UK. While her treatment is already incredibly demanding, we are also looking ahead to what comes next and doing everything we can to give her the best possible chance of staying cancer-free.

Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) Cancer Center in New York is currently offering a specific bivalent vaccine designed to significantly reduce the risk of relapse following treatment. For international families who do not qualify for trial coverage, the cost of accessing this treatment can be upwards of £300,000, making fundraising essential.

In November 2026, I will be running the New York City Marathon. What began as a personal goal has now become something far more meaningful. I will be running every mile for Phoebe, with the hope of raising funds to help cover the significant costs of travelling from the UK to New York for Phoebe and my sister, so that they can access the care and treatment that may give Phoebe the best possible chance for the future.
