Run for our NHS Heroes
Donation protected
Over the past 3 months I have been working with the RCHT Health & Well-being and Improving Working Lives (IWL) teams to develop and implement a staff Health & Well-being programme for it's 5000+ work force across 3 hospitals.
Due to the current CoronaVirus (COVID-19) pandemic a lot of our work has been put on hold but through our working partnership with Les Mills UK we have managed to allow staff to have access to a range of virtual programmes from yoga and pilates to GRIT training. This is just a small gesture but hopefully will allow staff to have an outlet during these testing days, weeks and months ahead.
Looking into the future of the whole Health & Well-being programme and the strong partnerships with Les Mills UK and Stages Cycles UK I am 'Running for our NHS Heroes' on Sunday 5th April to raise funds towards purchasing fitness equipment for the 3 hospitals which will allow staff to stay physically and mentally strong.
The average shift time for clinical staff at RCHT - Doctors, Nurses is 12 hours. Their shifts usually start at 7:30am until 7:30pm.
Next Saturday I will run unsupported for 12 hours continuously on a Assault Air Runner starting at 7:30am when these National Heroes go to battle against this dreadful pandemic. This is just my way of saying thank you to all those RCHT NHS staff both clinical and support and to hopefully raise a bit of cash to improve their working lives.
I am extremely grateful of the support I will receive on this small challenge compared to the Heroes daily mammoth challenge against COVID-19 from Les Mills UK and Stages Cycles UK.
I MUST STRESS THAT THIS CHALLENGE WILL BE UNSUPPORTED AND I ASK THAT ANYONE WHO WISHES TO SUPPORT ME DOES IT BY DONATING AND PLEASE DO NOT TURN UP AND RUN WITH ME. I AM VERY CAUTIOUS OF THE SOCIAL DISTANCING BUT IF YOU CAN RUN LOOPS IN YOUR GARDEN, PLEASE RUN IT AND SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE ON OUR FACEBOOK PAGE.
I will be setting up a dedicated Facebook page and social media tags.
Thank you for support me in supporting our NHS Heroes.
