I'm Jarrad and during the month of July I'll be running 200km.

I first met Luke in 2000, when the ice-skating rink at Warners Bay was opened. It's hard to believe that 26 years have passed since then. Watching the energetic young boy running amok around the rink, grow into the incredible man, devoted husband, and loving father he is today is an absolute privilege.

Luke's family Garry, Leanne, and Lindsay were such an important part of my life for many years, and to now see the journey Luke and his family are now facing is so heartbreaking.

In November 2024, Luke's received the devastating diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND), after what first seemed like a simple weakness in his foot. Since then, this cruel and relentless disease has progressed far more quickly than anyone could have imagined, bringing challenges that family should ever have to face.

Despite everything, Luke continues to face each day with extraordinary courage, strength, and a wicked sense of humour. Even in the face of unimaginable uncertainty, he remains determined to cherish every moment with his Family. I’m hoping to ease some of the burden by raising much needed funds so they can create as many lasting memories as possible together.
