Run For Jordy

Family and Friends,

Recently, our beloved puppy Jordy was victim to a senseless and cruel act of animal abuse which ended her life.

 

For those of you who didn't get to meet her, Jordy was a charasmatic and cheeky Blue Heeler X who was rescued and loved by her mum Phoebe. When Phoebe first met her little girl, Jordy was only 10 weeks old and in a state of neglect with a tummy full of worms and a small malnourished body. Immediately Phoebe knew she had to take her in and care for her - and it wasn't long before Jordy had a few vet visits, put on weight, got a shiny coat and became a very happy and playful pup. They fell in love and became best friends instantly. The little rascal loved to chew shoes, fall asleep on the big human bed, go for long walks on the beach (except when she got too tired and aunty Steph had to carry her), and above all she melted hearts where ever she went. She grew bigger and stronger every day and was truly loved deeply by her family and most of all her mum.

 

When Jordy was seven months old, she was targeted in a cowardly act of animal abuse that ended her life. Jordy lived a very short life and did not deserve the hand she was dealt. Heartbreak and anger hardly scratch the surface of emotions that we have felt over the past months and there is no possble way to make sense of this evil. As we slowly begin to heal, an important step for us is to try and put some sort of meaning and kindness back into the world.

We are sisters Phoebe and Steph and we want to share this story with you in hope that you can join us in raising funds to support our fight against animal cruelty. We have pledged to train for and complete a half marathon to raise funds which will be donated to an Australian animal rights organisation of our choice. Funds will go directly towards rescuing, rehoming, and medical attention for disadvantaged animals, particularly those subjected to neglect and abuse.

 

We will complete the half marathon on Saturday 28th of January along Jordy's favourite beach. Anything you could donate would be greatly appreciated and help keep that fire in our bellies burning.

 

This run is for Jordy, a little pup we loved so much.
