56km Run for James: Raising Awareness for Microcephaly
**This Sunday, I’m running the 56km Yurrebilla Trail Ultra Marathon for my son, James.**
James is 20 months old and was born with **ASPM Primary Microcephaly**. His journey has taught me the importance of strength, resilience, and kindness. While we can't change his diagnosis, we can raise awareness and foster understanding for children like James, who face learning challenges.
We are deeply grateful to the **SA Clinical Genetic Service within the Women’s and Children’s Hospital**, who first diagnosed James. In honor of James and their work, I will dedicate this run to raising awareness for ASPM Primary Microcephaly.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped James on this journey so far—the amazing medical professionals, his occupational therapist, speech therapist, physiotherapist, Conyngham Childcare Centre, and of course, family, close friends, and most importantly, his beautiful mother, Kate, and sister, Grace.
Thank you for your support.
