Run for Eve: VHI Women's Mini Marathon 2025

Hi Everyone!

Please join us in fundraising for our 3rd year completing the VHI Women's Mini Marathon in honor of our beloved sister and friend Eve McMahon.

In October 2021, Eve, aged 22 received the devastating diagnosis of Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive sub-type of Sarcoma Cancer. Over the course of 7 months, Eve underwent intensive treatment under the compassionate care of the staff in St. Vincent's Private Hospital Dublin. Throughout her treatments, she showed remarkable perseverance with unwavering courage. Sadly, Eve passed away on the 19th of June 2022.

For the last 2 years a group of over 25 of Eve’s family, friends and neighbors have successfully completed the VHI Women's Mini Marathon in Dublin city centre. We raised over €27,000 for Sarcoma Cancer Ireland in 2023 and over €19,000 for Breakthrough Cancer Research in 2024. This year we will be gathering again and raising funds for Sarcoma Cancer Ireland who provide essential support, education, and advocacy for sarcoma patients and their families.

We are so grateful for the generosity shown towards our fundraiser, and we thank everyone who has supported our chosen charities. Every little helps, and this year we hope to raise even a small fraction of donations to support a worthy cause

All services and activities undertaken by Sarcoma Cancer Ireland are 100% funded by public donations. Board members and volunteers do not receive payment for their work and all money raised is spent on furthering their goals and strategies.
