Run for a Cure: Boston Marathon run with Dana Farber
Donation protected
I am honored to be running the 129th Boston Marathon in memory of my Aunt Jojo, Bryan Cummings, and my Uncle Tom. I will be running with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to benefit the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research. This program plays a pivotal role in supporting new cancer research lines and helping develop novel treatments that improve therapies and survival rates for patients globally.
In November 2022, my family lost my Aunt Jojo to colon cancer. She was truly a special person—caring, kind, and dedicated to her family and friends. A lifelong needleworker, volunteer, and beach bum, Aunt Jojo was the best aunt anyone could ask for. Throughout her fight, she never gave up, and she continued to show love and support to all of us until the very end. Not a day goes by that I don’t remember the joy she brought to my life, and I will carry her memory with me every step of this journey.
I’m also running in memory of my dear friend Bryan Cummings, who was taken from us entirely too soon. Bryan was like a second dad to me, and his bright light filled our lives. The strength and fight he showed through his battle with cancer were deeply inspiring. Bryan’s journey reminded me of the resilience we all have within us, even in the face of tremendous challenges. His courage and positive spirit are a legacy I will always cherish.
I am also running in memory of my Uncle Tom, who passed away in 2022, and to honor my Aunt Mary Beth, who won her fight with cancer.
Cancer is a disease that touches everyone. By running for Dana-Farber, I’m joining a community of supporters committed to raising awareness and working toward a world where cancer no longer exists. I am proud to honor the lives of those we've lost and to celebrate the victories of those who have fought and won.
My goal is to raise $12,000 to support the incredible work Dana-Farber does in life-saving cancer research. This is a huge feat, and I need your support in this battle. Please consider donating or sharing my fundraising page with your friends and family. Every bit counts, and together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against cancer.
For anyone who donates $150 or more, I'll also dedicate a specific mile in the marathon to someone of your choosing. Thank you for your support!
Together, we can run toward a common goal: a world without cancer.
