Run and Roll Playground
We are raising money to benefit WEE CARE DEVELOPMENTAL DAY CARE CENTRE students, and any donation will make an impact.
Wee Care is a non-profit inclusive day care centre. We have been growing and improving since 1973 when we enrolled our first few children. Our current playground was constructed with the generous help of the community, businesses and the HMCS Iroquois in 1989 when we had an enrollment of 42 children.
Today we have over 80 children and 20 staff and our mandate to incorporate the outside as an additional learning space has meant that our playground is well-used! But that usage and Mother Nature take their toll.
Our playground is in need of repairs and redesign. As an inclusive centre it is paramount that all places and spaces are accessible and available to every child.
We are on a mission to make improvements to enhance the current outdoor space for everyone to enjoy. We would also like to see more natural materials and options for physical challenges as well as elements that stimulate all the senses with inclusive elements.
