I'm Grace, a 22 year old Independent Coventry City Councillor. I won my seat 2 years ago through grassroots organising where students and marginalised groups were essential to the campaign. We spoke directly to voters who were tired of being ignored by the main establishment party's and pushing for a socialist alternative.

In the summer, after 5 and 1/2 years in the Labour Party, I became the first councillor to defect and join Your Party. Now months later, I am not only focused on defeating Labour but also putting up a strong fight against Reform, who already have a councillor in Westwood ward and growing support. In the summer, we were one of the areas in the city most concentrated with flags, creating a generally unwelcoming environment for many.

In Coventry, the Labour-run council cuts libraries, cultural funding, and local charities - and breaks strikes instead of supporting workers. They signed a £100,000 a year contract with Palantir too. Meanwhile, Reform, in the most recent budget wanted to cut support for care leavers, reject net zero, and voted against building more temporary accommodation for large families.

So now, I need your support to:

1. Retain my seat

2. Put forward an alternative to the establishment and far right

3. Have conversations, doorknock, and print literature promoting socialist policies including free school meals, council housing, and free buses for under 25's ect

4. Continue to recruit working-class people to the movement locally
