Aleta's Medical Bills and Aftercare
Donation protected
I am Aleta's daughter, Julie. My mom became very ill very quickly this past week. We took her to the hospital on Friday night where she was admitted for severe shortness of breath and low oxygen levels. After some testing, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. This is quite a shock to us all. My mom has been the rock of our family. Not only that, she is a self-employed tax preparer and many people and businesses depend on her as well. She's feeling the pressure of not being "available" to everyone.
Being single and self employed, you can imagine that this will take quite a toll on her financially. With the extended hospital stay and no definite discharge date yet, the medical costs are mounting. She will also need to be moved to a skilled nursing center for rehab after being discharged. There are more costs involved in that, as well as the transportation to get her from the hospital to the care facility. On top of the medical bills, she's not able to work right now so will lose income during all of the ongoing treatment and therapy.
We have no idea what mountain of bills we're looking at once this is all done but we anticipate a lot and extended care may be needed too. Any monetary help, thoughts, prayers and messages are received with much appreciation. I love my mom more that words can express. She's always been my rock, my best friend, my mentor and my role model. Now it's my turn to help her and take care of her. Thank you for reading this and for any help you can give.
