Rumbo a caminar de nuevo

Hola, les saluda Manuel Alejandro Dávila Marvéz, tengo 27 años, y hoy agradezco su atención para comentarles del gran desafío de vida que enfrento en este momento.

El 18 de Mayo del 2024, sufrí una caída desde una lancha en el Parque Nacional Morrocoy, causándome una fractura en la columna vertebral a nivel cervical, con contusión en la médula espinal.

Fui sometido de urgencia a una riesgosa operación para estabilizar mi cuello, con un resultado exitoso de sensibilidad y movilidad en mi cabeza, cuello y brazos. Quedando mis manos con movilidad parcial y sin sensibilidad ni movimiento el resto de mi cuerpo.

Luego de un arduo trabajado de rehabilitación durante mas de 10 meses, atendido con un excelente equipo de médicos y fisioterapeutas, he logrado mayor control en mis manos y movilidad voluntaria hasta la cadera.

Motivado por esta respuesta positiva y progresiva de mi cuerpo, comencé, junto a mis terapeutas, en la búsqueda de alternativas de tratamiento más avanzados con mayor incidencia, rapidez y efectividad en el sistema neurológico motor. Es así como recibimos del Centro Europeo de Neurociencia, CEN, ubicado en la ciudad de Madrid, España, un Plan de Neurorrehabilitación Intensivo, por un periodo inicial de 3 a 4 meses, comenzando en el mes de Junio 2025.

Al principio de este incidente, contaba con la cobertura de una compañía aseguradora, hasta que fueron consumidos todos los beneficios del contrato con la misma; asumiendo desde entonces de manera particular y con la ayuda de mis padres, algunos familiares y amigos, todos los gastos derivados de mi atención médica y del programa de rehabilitación al que aun asisto diariamente en el centro de Rehabilitación Sinapsis, en Valencia.

Como consecuencia de lo anterior y mi inactividad productiva, actualmente no dispongo de los recursos económicos necesarios para cubrir el costo del Plan Intensivo de Neurorrehabilitación (68.000,00$). Mas los gastos de traslado, alojamiento y alimentación, los cuales llevan a una inversión total de Ochenta mil dólares americanos (80.000,00$) aproximadamente.

Por esta razón acudo a ustedes, para solicitarles su apoyo en la recaudación de fondos que hagan posible mi asistencia al Programa de Rehabilitación planteado por el CEN.

Les expreso mi mayor agradecimiento por su comprensión, deseando que sea retribuida su bondad en salud y bienestar para ustedes y sus familias.

Hello, greetings from Manuel Alejandro Dávila Marvéz, I am 27 years old, and today I thank you for your attention to tell you about the great challenge i’m facing at the moment.

On May 18, 2024, I suffered a fall from a boat in Morrocoy National Park, causing a fracture in my spine at the cervical level, with a contusion to my spinal cord.

I underwent an urgent risky operation to stabilize my neck, with a successful result of sensitivity and mobility in my head, neck and arms. Leaving my hands with partial mobility and without sensitivity or movement the rest of my body.

After a hard rehabilitation work for more than 10 months with an excellent team of doctors and physiotherapists, I have achieved greater control in my hands and voluntary mobility up to the hip.

Motivated by this positive and progressive response of my body, I began in the search for more advanced treatment alternatives , with more speed and effectiveness in the motor neurological system. This is how we received from the European Center of Neuroscience, CEN, located in the city of Madrid, Spain, an Intensive Neurorehabilitation Plan, for an initial period of 3 to 4 months, starting in June 2025.

At the beginning of this incident, I had the coverage of an insurance company, until all the benefits of the contract with it were consumed; assuming since then in a particular way and with the help of my parents, some family and friends, all the expenses derived from my medical care and the rehabilitation program that I still attend daily at the Sinapsis Rehabilitation center, in Valencia.

As a result of the above and my productive inactivity, I currently do not have the necessary economic resources to cover the cost of the Intensive Neurorehabilitation Plan ($68,000.00). Plus the expenses of transportation, accommodation and food, which lead to a total investment of eighty thousand American dollars ($ 80,000.00) approximately.

For this reason I come to you, to ask for your support in raising funds that make possible my assistance to the Rehabilitation Program proposed by the CEN.
