Our baby boy, Rumble, is in need of all of our help!

Our story starts 6 years ago.

I was a fur foster parent and volunteer with Karma Rescue for many years but in 2015 my life changed forever. I fostered a beautiful sweet American Bulldog/Boxer pup named Rumble and inevitably fell in love with him. I decided to never let him go and he became a permanent member of my family.

I remember the first time we met like it was just yesterday. It was just him and I in the room and he was only interested in sniffing around a new environment, but little did I know that we were going to be best friends. Shortly after, he was comfortable, and our unbreakable bond started to develop immediately. It wasn’t long before l contacted Karma Rescue to let them know that I wanted to adopt Rumble.

Rumble has brought so much joy and comfort into our lives over the years. His silly and goofy personality has made me laugh more than I ever have in my life. His eyes are so kind and so sweet. Just looking into them alongside getting his signature wet kisses always makes everything all better on the worst of days. He has so much love and affection to give, and his loyalty is unmatched.

Rumble loves people so much and he absolutely adores children. I watch his sweet nature with my niece and nephew. Every day on our walks, the neighborhood children are always excited to see, pet, and play with him. I have always dreamed of Rumble meeting my future children to experience his gentle sweet nature and to be at my wedding that is just a few months away, and it absolutely terrifies me that it might not happen.

Rumble isn’t just a dog or a pet, he is far more than that! He’s my best friend, my baby boy, my companion, and my helper. He is a certified service dog that helps me with medical condition. He knows exactly what I need during my flares without me trying to articulate it.

Anywhere I go, Rumble goes. We’ve literally been everywhere together. He travels on the airplane with me everywhere I go. He’s taken selfies and had FaceTime calls with pilots and airport staff and their kids and has won over entire flights with just his sweetness. Everyone that meets him is shocked at his age. “He’s got puppy dog energy,” is what they always say.

on August 21st, 2021 our lives changed forever. Rumble started shaking suddenly and uncontrollably, his mouth was foaming, he was confused and dazed for 15 minutes or so. Little did I know he was having his first seizure. It was the scariest moment of my life. I was losing my mind thinking I would lose him and that is when everything became so real and terrifying. Two days later, on August 23rd, 2021, he suffered two more seizures, I ran frantically to the ER and was praying to God that it was not serious and maybe it was just some sort of virus or something he ate or sniffed. The vets did not know what was going on but suggested an MRI and anti-convulsion medication in the meantime.

On September 24th/25th, Rumble experienced 5 more seizures in just two days, the seizures lasted longer and happened more frequently. He was confused and dazed for way longer than before. My heart dropped and I had to do something.

On October 10th, Rumble went in for an MRI that lasted for several hours. During this time, I felt so sad, broken and empty. His immense presence wasn’t there, and home didn’t feel like home without him. For a while I thought I rescued him, but in all actuality, he’s the one that rescued me.

A few hours after the MRI, we found out that Rumble has a brain tumor thought to be a glioma. We were in disbelief and so frantic that we couldn’t stop crying. The thought of losing our Baby Boy devastated us.

He has so much life left in him to live, and at the age of 8 1/2, he has more energy than me. A trip to the park to play fetch always ends reluctantly because he just wants to stay and play all day.

The neurologist started to discuss “end of life plans” with us and we just couldn’t believe it, we have to do something for our pup.

We decided to consult with an oncologist who said that the tumor seems to have a clearly defined boundary and we can target it with radiation therapy that would completely shrink the tumor.

We got so excited and became hopeful that we don’t have to lose Rumble if we can just get him the help that he needs. He urged us to act fast because if left untreated, Rumble likely only has a few months or less to live.

Rumble is only 8 1/2 years old. We play everyday. His energy has not slowed down at all. He has so much life left in him. Discussing end of life was not an option for me and Rumble. We know the conversation needs to be how do we save him. And with the radiation, it can get him more years, not months, years!!!

We sincerely ask, that if you’re able to contribute to help keep Rumble in our lives a while longer, it would mean the world to all of us!

We understand that not everyone can contribute monetarily, we just ask of you to keep him in your prayers and to share this with all of your fellow pup lovers!
