From the daughters of Rui Liu Zhu (Linda, Lisa, and Joyce).

Rui Zhu, better known as Judy to most, left our side on January 4, 2023, at 10:45 PM. In the last few years of her life, she has been living with Parkinson’s Disease. As many of you know, she was a loud and proud lady who was a force to be reckoned with. That being said, her battle with Parkinson’s has taken more of herself with every passing day. She still tried to show up as her best self each and every day, especially when she was surrounded by people she deeply cared for.

Judy was overly generous, witty, and compassionate. Of all the good that she was, our favorite thing about our mom was her wicked sense of humor (slightly edgy, yet innocent). She knew how to fill a room with laughter and shared a smile with everyone to make sure they felt welcomed. Everyone loved Judy and her many birthday celebrations in a year. We still don’t know her age, yet she seemed to never age past 42 years old.

Judy wanted the world for her family and her daughters. She didn’t believe in waiting for an opportunity to present itself. Judy would grab life by the balls and achieve whatever she set her mind on. Through the many sleepless nights and double shifts, my parents endured, they have helped my mom’s whole family emigrate from China to America, a feat that speaks volumes about her love and commitment to her loved ones. Sometimes she was also painfully stubborn and prideful, but she yielded those traits to her own success. She is a dragon sign after all.

We were not prepared for this tragedy that left us sitting in the silent emptiness of our home. A lively soul gone too soon. Our family would like to give her the funeral service she deserves. Any donation towards her funeral service would be greatly appreciated by our family. She is in a better place now and we know she is looking over us.
