MISSION STATEMENT

I am a new filmmaker based in Dubai, committed to telling stories that matter, in my own voice. Ruhani & Dolma is my attempt at exploring three big questions that I have been personally exploring for some time now, and invite you to explore with me.

THE STORY

Dr. Ruhani Rolani in her mid 30’s is one of the world’s most brilliant quantum physicists, on the brink of a major scientific breakthrough - proving the existence of parallel universes. Along with experimental physicist Dr. Dev Chatterjee, her confidant, collaborator, and friend, Dr. Ruhani is set to be the first to prove this highly controversial theory.

In the race to be the first to prove this groundbreaking scientific claim, Dr. Ruhani skips protocol, and decides to go public about her breakthrough - without the consent or knowledge of the University leadership team. Her actions, however, trigger catastrophic consequences. For Ruhani, the fallout is swift and unforgiving—the collapse of her illustrious career, public discreditation, and the unraveling of her personal life. Betrayed by a system she once revered, she is left questioning everything.

Tired of the politics and corruption within the scientific community, Ruhani decides to continue her pursuit of the existence of parallel universes in an entirely unrelated discipline – Buddhism.

Fifteen years pass, and Ruhani has completely transformed from the hot-headed, provocative, egoistic scientist to the humble and reflective Buddhist nun, Dolma Tsering. One day, when Dolma is working on an intricate sand mandala, she unexpectedly has a chance encounter with Dev. They reconnect after nearly 15 years and rekindle the friendship they had left behind. As they spend more time with each other, Dolma realizes she has strong feelings for him. Torn between her Buddhist vows and her love for Dev, she reaches a crossroads once again.

The journey toward resolving this inner conflict unveils profound revelations, forcing Dolma to confront her past, her purpose, and the nature of love itself. In the process, she comes to understand truth that transcends both science and spirituality, bringing her closer not only to the man she loves but also to her true self and her ultimate destiny.

WHERE YOUR CONTRIBUTION GOES

Our production goal is $15,000, and we aim to reach this goal within the next 6 weeks. These funds will cover the BASICS OF PRODUCTION — cast and crew wages, food, travel, lodging, equipment, production design, locations and permits.

This is the foundation we need to bring RUHANI & DOLMA to life.

Our stretch goal is $20,000 to complete post production of the film but we are aiming to raise $15,000 first and then continue with the remaining.
