Lekadi's Education Fund
Donation protected
Hey Folks,
We are continuing the campaign to get Lekadi a graduate degree!!! We are on his 2nd to last semester! We are going for $2000 this time. As usual, I will be matching the first $400 in donations. This is a very small goal to achieve as a group, and any amount helps. Anything we get that goes over our goal will go towards his next semester of school. Thank you so much for participating in this journey with me. Please remember to share this with anyone you think would be interested in coming along with us!
For those who are new:
Lekadi is a young man from the Maasai tribe I met in Kenya while participating in the Global Youth Peace Summit in 2016. He is a bright, caring, and ambitious young man. We started raising money in late 2016 and his first trimester of school was in March of 2017. We have almost gotten him through the whole of his education to help him bring thoughtful representation of his community to his village. The village leaders in the eyes of the Kenyan government are all appointed from outside of the village and do not understand the problems facing the village in a real way. And the people of the village are rarely educated and do not see the value in it. His goal is to fix both problems.
He's recently finished his second research project for his graduate degree which was titled:
"Factors Affecting Safety and Health of Employees in the Hospitality Industry in Kenya: A Case Study of the Ambassador Hotel"
Their family has been facing massive droughts that have killed 4 of their cows over the last few months. And Lekadi has pushed through pneumonia, typhoid, and continuing stomach ailments while continuing to excel in his studies. He is as committed a young man as I've ever met. And we are very close to finishing this thing. Please help if you can!
Lekadi has also been suffering through some health problems over the last year and has struggled to get effective treatments in Kenya, but has managed to keep his grades up in spite of all of it. If you can lend support in any amount, please do so.
Some words from Lekadi:
"Thanks to you many great people for the great work you have done for me through my education. These are some of the achievements that I am making here in school after your support. I am pursuing my Diploma in Human Resource management, I have been also elected in my institution as a general secretary due to your support. I have learned new and great things here in school and outside of the school because of your support. I came to realize that education is the passport for future ,for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare it today. Education is the movement from darkness into light... Kindly I may still request your support so that I may fulfill my education dream.
My future is still planning so that I may represent those who are unable to bring solutions in my community. Those who have been left behind in education and also in jobs and other great things in life. God bless you and expand your territories through out your life."
