Dear all,

It's now been a few weeks since we were able to experience the international match between Germany and the Netherlands - with rugby goals, anthems and over 800 guests. TUS Blankenstein was a good host despite the wind and weather. And the German national team also put up a brave fight against a rightly victorious Netherlands team. All in all, it was a great success and we would like to thank everyone who played their part in making this wonderful event possible. We will now close the campaign and go offline at the beginning of the year. The next projects are coming up. Good luck for 2024!

Es ist nun ein paar Wochen her, dass wir das Länderspiel Deutschland vs Niederlande erleben durften - mit Rugby- Toren, Hymnen und über 800 Gästen. Der TUS Blankenstein war ein guter Gastgeber trotz Wind und Wetter. Und auch die deutsche Nationalmannschaft hat sich tapfer gegen ein zu recht siegreiches Team der Niederlande gewehrt. Alles in allem ein großartiger Erfolg und wir danken allen, die ihren Beitrag geleistet haben, diesen schönen Erfolg erleben zu können. Wir werden nun die Kapagne schließen und zu Jahresbeginn damit offline gehen. Die nächsten Projekte stehen an. Glück auf 2024!

First Dedicated Rugby League Pitch in Germany

We are working hard to set up Rugby League in Germany.

With the help of the City of Hattingen and our local club TuS Blankenstein, we are setting up the very first purely Rugby League pitch in Germany, right in the middle of the famous Ruhr region in the north-west of the country.

We need your support to help finance buying the rugby goal posts, as currently there are only the old soccer goalposts on the pitch.

Both the city and the club are supporting the development of League in the region and will be hosting this year’s Griffin Cup against the Netherlands on 21st October 2023. We are looking to set up Hattingen as a Centre of Excellence and the facilities for that are perfect – we just need the posts.

Rugby League ist die etwas technischere Variante des bekannten Rugby - bei beiden geht's zur Sache. Gemeinsam sind ihnen nicht nur Freundschaft und Fairness, sondern auch Spielfeld, Ball und die H-förmigen Tore. Nicht nur Bob Doughton, Sohn Liam und Enkelin Kira sind dem britischen Sport verfallen. Bob ist Bundestrainer, Liam Nationalspieler. Der kleine TuS Blankenstein in Hattingen an der Ruhr, bislang im Kinderturnen, Gymnastik und Fußball engagiert, ließ sich begeistern von den rund 40 Kindern, Frauen und Männern, die als "Ruhrpott-Ritter" nun für den TuS Blankenstein spielen (im Zentrum von Blankenstein und im Wappen des TuS steht unsere Burg). Was bislang fehlte, waren die exorbitant teuren Tore, die aus England importiert werden mussten. Wir haben es gewagt! Die Tore sind da und am 21. Oktober findet in Hattingen das Länderspiel Deutschland - Niederlande statt. Jetzt fehlen noch 3.000 €, um das teure Gestänge, ohne das es nun mal nicht geht, auch bezahlen zu können. Jetzt kommst Du!
