Rufus’ Toofus and the Very Big Vet Bill
Hello world,
Rufus has lived an exciting cat life (or a few) and at the ripe age of 13, he officially needs a dental cleaning and tooth extraction. He most definitely could have used these things already, but of course cost is sadly a matter that can be difficult to combat when it comes to this sort of thing. But knowing how much life this cat truly has left to LIVE and I really mean it, he is so lively, just the best little pal to have around, there is nothing else I can do but do whatever I can to help him and take care of him so he can be around as long as he can. So this is my means of ‘whatever I can’ at this point, and believe me, I know how hard it is right now for all of us. Asking for anything in this climate seems futile and selfish, but I can’t not try, even if it’s shameful or embarrassing, I have the means to at the very least ask if anyone else has supplementary means to donate to his care. Though he is ‘only a cat’, he is my very best friend and a true good thing in this world.
Rufus needs to get blood work ($450) done to determine if he’s eligible for anesthesia, which is the only way to safely clean/examine his teeth. Once he’s determined good to go, the estimate starts at $2,600 for the exam with anesthesia.
It goes without saying that I can’t afford this right now, given the creation of this gofundme at all. And if you want the whole financial backstory of every dollar mistakenly spent or decision to get here, we can do that for sure. But I know how strapped EVERYONE is right now. I wouldn’t go to this step if it weren’t the only one I had, so I hope if you have anything to spare, you would consider giving to Rufus’ vet expenses.
In order to feel slightly like we’re working for it, Rufus and I will be making ‘thank you’ dance videos to everyone who contributes and if you do donate, we encourage you to let us know what song you’d like Rufus and I to perform for you over on our Instagram stories.
thank you for listening to our plea and we appreciate any and every penny
