Dear family and friends,
I am going to Collique, Peru this summer from June 26 through July 5 on a mission trip with my church. We will be working with a group of young children through a Christian organization called Operacion San Andres (OSA). First Baptist Church Norman has previously worked with OSA for many years. OSA provides support for impoverished people in Collique (to learn more visit http://operacionsanandres.org/).
Last summer, I had the opportunity to serve at a children’s summer program in Washington, DC, and was overjoyed to see how God used us to be a part of the kid’s lives. I especially enjoyed taking the kids on field trips such as to the zoo, library, and park to create unique memories that they may not have had otherwise. That was my first mission trip, and ever since then I have been incredibly anxious to see what God’s plans for me are next.
I look forward to experiencing the people and culture in Collique this summer. I have personally felt a calling to be a part of this experience to share my joy and love for the Lord with them. I can’t wait to see how God will move! “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
We can’t do this alone, so here is where you come in! With every trip there comes expenses for things such as plane tickets, lodging, and food, making the total cost about $2,500. I appreciate your willingness to pray for me and donate to my trip.
