On May 2rd my brother and I received a phone call from Bianca (Garrett's girlfriend) asking if we could swing by Garrett's apartment to check on him, she was out of town and hadn't heard from him in almost a day. I instantly began to worry as I knew that Garrett was having some health issues two weeks prior. 

Our worst fear materialized into our worst nightmare as we walked into Garrett's apartment and found that our beautiful friend had fallen asleep and didn't wake up.

Garrett turned 32 the day before he passed away. His capacity for love, loyalty, happiness,  and  unconditional acceptance was unmatched. He had a positive energy that everyone was drawn to and it is no wonder why he touched so many lives during his short time on this planet. 

Ruff died with a lot of love, but he also died with a lot of student loan debt, $30,000 of which his parents are on the hook for as cosigners. I love Vickie and Ron Ruff with all of my heart but they are very proud and will not ask for help. They don't have to because I will.

I am asking everyone who reads this to pitch in whatever you can to help alleviate the financial burden that has been placed on such a wonderful couple who have just lost their baby boy.
