Hello friends and family - Rudy Diaz is my brother, the 5th child of Maria and Felix Diaz. Rudy was a very giving and loving person, but struggled at the end with pulmonary hypertension. He had many challenges growing up, but applied himself academically. A couple months before graduating from high school, he was diagnosed with
schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. He struggled to focus and complete his classes at Lakewood High School, but with grit and determination he was able to accomplish his goal of graduating. Although he attended Long Beach City College's welding program, his illness prevented him from focusing and completing the program. Rudy's love of dogs became his passion for many years! He started his own business, Westside Long Beach Blue Pits and began to breed blue pits and sell them. He was a hands-on uncle, who loved to take his nieces and nephews out to the beach, grilled hamburgers, and would make a fire for them in the backyard. Having family over to talk and eat together was important to him. He loved to eat seafood at Ports O'Call in San Pedro for his birthday, and he loved to go out fishing. He remembered his past loves with a smile on his face: Erica Lopez, Mary Jane, Brenda Martinez, and Tasha Polidore. He thought of himself as a stud! Rudy was preceded in death by his brother Felix. He will be missed by his sisters Rosa, Marisa, Patricia, and brother Anthony. He will also be missed by his nieces (Jessica, Erica, Valerie, Jeanette, Irene, and Nana), nephews(David, Robert, Johnny, Francisco, and Esteban)
cousins, and friends. Most of all, he will be missed by our mother Maria Diaz and father Felix Diaz. He gave me a specific request, to be buried at All Souls Cemetery. If you are able to support us in any way it will be greatly appreciated by the Diaz family. We Thank You.
