Justin is a beloved sergeant in the Hellam Township Police Department, known to many as 'Big Sarge.' or simply “Golder”. He’s the kind of person you can always count on, whether it’s covering a shift so a fellow officer can spend extra time with family, or having your back on a tough call. Justin’s dedication to his police department and community is unmatched. Justin’s kindness, humor, and family-oriented spirit have made him a pillar anyone can lean on at work and at home. He’s a devoted husband and a proud father to a son and daughter, always involved in their sports and activities, showing up for them just as he does for his colleagues. Justin also coaches youth athletics, participates in outreach programs, and has been an incredible support to the community, always finding ways to give back and make a difference.

Recently, Justin was diagnosed with colon cancer and is about to begin his first round of chemotherapy. As he faces this challenge, we want him to know that he’s not alone. The Hellam Township Police Department is organizing a RUCK walk on Monday (12/15) in his honor, starting at the Hellam Township Police Department and passing by the treatment center. Officers will travel 26.3 miles to represent his badge number 26-3. We welcome the entire community to join us for any portion of the walk, even if it’s just a short distance. This is our way of showing Justin that we have his back, just as he’s always had ours.

We’re raising funds to help Justin and his family with medical bills and to support them during his time off, so they can focus on his recovery without added financial stress.
