Help Ruby Find Her Voice - AAC Fund
Donation protected
Ruby needs a voice! Ruby was diagnosed with a very rare genetic disorder - she has a mutation on DHX30 gene. The result of this is that Ruby has very low muscle tone which limits her physical mobility, she in non verbal, and is expected to have cognitive delays.
We started Ruby on a picture communication system in a binder and she is flying through it! She has changed so much since she realized she was able to have an opinion. We want to continue to see her grow and to broaden her communication options.
She is going to be receiving an evaluation for an AAC device and program. These are expensive devices, just as expected, since most adaptive equipment is.
Instead of birthday presents, we are asking that you donate to this cause so we can buy the program and device for Ruby so she can have a voice and tell us what is on her mind!
Any extra money will be used toward her next need or put in a savings for her future needs.
6/9 - You are all amazing!!! We have bumped up the goal to $2,000 to cover a second tablet for games to encourage cognitive growth and manual dexterity skills (we’re told to keep the speech device strictly speech) and a device that helps ruby take steps with us!
