Hysterectomy Recovery Fund

As most of you know, I’ve been battling endometriosis for many years and I’ve now reached the point where all other treatments have been unsuccessful. But I refuse to let this diagnosis define me. And I believe that I won’t always be in pain. I have work I want to do in this world. I’m meant to be a healer and a helper and I’ve not been able to get to it because of the debilitating pain I’ve been in for the last few years. One by one I’ve exhausted less extreme options and now the treatment of last resort is upon me. I’m having a total hysterectomy December 11th at 10am.

The procedure will remove my uterus, remaining ovary, fallopian tubes and cervix. Unfortunately, I’ll experience immediate surgically induced menopause. It’s been a bitter pill to swallow and an outcome my doctors and I have worked hard to avoid, but ultimately, it may be the only choice I have in order to start living my best life, instead of just managing my symptoms. I’m very much looking forward to no longer being dependent on narcotic pain medications and being able to get back into kettlebell training and yoga. I want my body to be strong again and I know I can do it, which keeps me hopeful.

It’s been an incredibly rough season for my health and my personal life. I’ve been getting by with a few part time freelance jobs but work has dried up temporarily as it tends to do this time of year. My savings have gone to pay rent and bills. It’s so hard to say this, but I really need help. Recovery time for this procedure is 6-8 weeks of mostly bedrest and minimal activity so I’m completely unable to work during this time. I know this is bad timing as the holidays are approaching and I know most of us are struggling financially as it is. I just need to make it through the next two months until I can get back to working and healing myself and helping others to do the same.

All funds will go towards necessities such as medications and medical supplies, groceries, cat supplies for Marla and cell phone/utility bills. Anything you can spare will help. A few five dollar donations can really add up and will keep me and Marla fed, healthy and warm.

I wish there was a phrase more powerful than ‘Thank You’ because it doesn’t feel like it’s enough
but it’s all I’ve got. So, thank you for all the love you’ve sent my way throughout not only the past few months, but the past 6 years of intense medical treatment and previous surgeries. I truly wouldn’t have made it through this season of my life without all of your love, prayers and support.

If you’re unable to donate, I totally understand! If you could share on whatever social media platform you’re comfortable with, I would greatly appreciate it. If you’d rather donate directly, PayPal and Venmo are also available, just shoot me a message and I’ll send you whatever info you need.

Please include or message me your mailing address, as I would love to send all donors a handwritten thank you card from me and Marla.

Again, my gratitude for your support in all forms is absolutely boundless. I hope you all have a happy holiday season and that the new year ahead brings healing and abundance for us all!

All my love,
Ruby
