Hi, my name is Ruby, and in June I’ll be taking on a HYROX race to raise money for two charities very close to my heart, in honour of my amazing nan. She was my biggest supporter — always watching my races and competitions, and if she couldn’t be there in person, she’d be straight on the phone to ask how it went. I know she’d be right behind me in this challenge too.

A HYROX is tough both physically and mentally, but it’s nothing compared to the strength it takes to live with dementia or face cancer. My nan sadly had both. While Macmillan weren’t involved in her care, I’ve seen the incredible work they do for so many families, and I want to support them so they can continue to be there for others who need that help. I’m also raising money for Forget Me Not Chorus, a local singing group that brings joy and connection to people living with dementia and their families — a cause especially close to us, as my nan attended on many occasions.

My goal is to raise £500 which will be split between both charities, and I’d be so deeply grateful for any support you can give. Every donation, no matter how small, helps make a real difference. Thank you so much for helping me honour my nan in this way.
