Ruby's Healing Journey After Javelina Attack
Donation protected
Hello friends and friends of friends.
My precious Ruby got viciously attacked by javelina early Saturday morning. We were simply doing a leashed morning walk of the neighborhood and they appeared silently out of nowhere - like 7 of them but only 1 or 2 had contact with her. She would up with a broken rib and multiple puncture wounds in her chest wall and abdomen.
Ruby getting healing Reiki from her aunt
We've (the vets and I) tried to take a medically supervised healing approach that included lots of monitoring, antibiotics and bandage changes - but in changing her bandage today the vet found that she has a hernia that may involve her intestines. This is something that needs to be addressed by surgery ASAP and I have had to think on my feet ever since the event took place. Ruby's spirits were fantastic this morning and her drive to live is definitely there. It will take many prayers and lots of TLC to get her through this surgery and on the road to recovery.
So while I might typically never ask for this type of help I find it necessary at this time. Most of you know I'm an independent graphic designer and COVID has been absolute hell on my workflow which is now a trickle. In a weird way it gives me more time to be with Ruby after her surgery so I don't hate that.... but the financial burden will be, simply put, like Chinese arithmetic to figure out.
Vet bill from Phoenix Veterinary
Any amount would be so gratefully appreciated, I know these are difficult times for us all. Thanks. <3 She's in surgery right now so if you see this please send light!
