Ruby is leaping into the next phase of her dance education as she heads off to the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater for a five week summer intensive! It has been a wonderful year of dance training and performances here at the National Dance! Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico! https://ndi-nm.org/dance-barns/
Ruby has had the opportunity to work with many talented choreographers and teachers this year including Francisco Gella https://franciscogelladance.com/ https://zeitgeistdancetheatre.org Rodney Rivera http://www.rodneyriveradanceorg.com and Alex Langley https://ndi-nm.org/alex-langley/ . She also just completed a two week dance camp with the innovative and inspiring Lillian Barbeito from the world renowned dance company “BODYTRAFFIC" and Ballare Carmel. https://www.ballarecarmel.org/artistic-director
Earlier this year, we made the 6 hour trip to Denver to audition for The Pittsburgh Ballet Theater and Ruby was so honored to be invited to their summer dance intensive. Adam Mckinney, the new Artistic Director of PBT, is the first person of color to be in this position! Adam used to dance for Alvin Ailey and worked for the New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe. He has always been a role model for Ruby and the work he is doing for the culture and community in Pittsburgh is something that excites and inspires her. https://www.pghcitypaper.com/arts-entertainment/pittsburgh-ballet-theatre-dances-into-a-more-inclusive-future-with-adam-mckinney-28154483
She is currently taking summer classes at Aspen Ballet to prepare for her five weeks at PBT! Upon return in August, Ruby will be attending the exclusive Preprofessional Dancer Institute with Francisco Gella https://preprodancerinstitute.com
So many wonderful opportunities and so much progress in one year, but, with that comes so many expenses! Thank you for helping Ruby reach for the stars and continue dancing her way into her future!!
