Ruby's Rehabilitation

Donation protected

Our beautiful little girl Ruby got out of our fence on Friday August 7th. Shortly after, our dog Rambo returned home without his companion by his side! For the following four days we scoured the area, handed out hundreds of flyers and put road signs up in our neighborhood.

On Tuesday August 11th we got a call from one of our neighbors that they had found Ruby hung up in an old dilapidated fence in the back of their property. She had been there for four and a half days stranded without food or water in the weather! Needless to say she barely made it and was extremely dehydrated, emaciated and her leg and foot had been caught in the fence was BADLY injured!

After transporting her to Blue Pearl animal hospital we found out that her wounds were severely infected and amputation may be required. She has now been under their care for 48hrs and will require a minimum 24 additional hours around the clock care to assess her injuries  once she is drinking and eating on her own. Then once she is somewhat nourished the surgical team will discuss the options for her foot/leg injuries.

Needless to say this amazing around the clock car that she requires is costing more than we ever expected. Just for the labs, meds and first 48hrs the expenses are well above $3000 and rapidly climbing. It is safe to assume that just for the 72hr care, meds and labs it will be at or above $5000 which is NOT including the surgery and or amputation.
