Hello everyone! If you've never met me my name is Ruby Roux and I am the best dog in the entire world (everyone says so).
It's been a pretty rough year for doggie's though. Last year my dad died and left me with the meanest person ever. She only gives me ten belly rubs a day (my dad gave me twelve) and makes me go get on the couch when I have opinions (my dad would have loud opinions with me).
(This is me and my dad if you never met him. He was the coolest.)
On top of that, Mom keeps taking me to these people who give lots of treats and praise - and are very interested in my butt. Like for real you guys, the number of things that have been put up my butt this month is TOO MANY.
Whatever they were doing they say they found something and it's not good. I could have told them that. I've really be struggling with... you know... butt things...
Anyway, Mom says it's going to be really expensive to get it fixed but I'm definitely worth it. She's right too.

Ruby out.

Ruby's Mom here, I'm going to go into some details about butt things here to be sure we're all above board, feel free to not read:
Ruby has a rectal mass on the left side of her large intestine. The growth is covering the entire left side (12 to 6 o'clock) and currently blocking about a third of the rectal cavity which has caused trouble defecating, blood, and quite a bit of pain. We don't know much about it other than that it's there - after the surgery the vet is going to do a biopsy to see if it's malignant (cancerous).
Ruby is considered a great candidate for surgery. She's in great health (she's lost 10 pounds and is so svelte now! Like a tiger!) and her blood work looked good so we're not too worried about the surgery itself.
Below is the estimated cost for the surgery, both the low and high estimates are given. I split the difference on the gofundme. If by some miracle Ruby gets more money than we need it will go directly into an emergency medical fund for her as she gets older.

Ruby is on some good antiobiotics and pain killers right now to make sure she's as comfortable as possible while we wait for the surgery date (June 28th).
I want to be clear, Ruby is getting the surgery regardless. Even if I have to take out a personal loan to do it. My girl deserves everything in the world. But if you've got a few bucks to throw our way to help ease some of the burden we'd really appreciate it.
