Hi everyone my name is Ruby Isabel Garcia and I just graduated from the University of California San Diego. I attained a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in Public law and a minor in business. I graduated with above a 3.0 and hope to apply to law school in the near future. But for now I have embarked on a new journey with the UCDC Internship program for summer 2025. I applied for this program as a transition period into my new life here in Washington DC. I am currently in the interview process for a job with a nonprofit organization and would appreciate any help possible to help support my career during this time.

A little more about me:

I am a first generation student who hopes to aid other first gens in accessing higher education. Whether that be at the high school level or within college itself as a mentor. I currently will be serving as Sigma Pi Alpha Iota chapters advisor (yes even from DC) I am excited to stay in this space and be a support system for the Latina community at UCSD.
