Dear Family and Friends,
In partnership with the East St. Louis Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and Delta Economic Development Corporation, the family of Ruby Allen-Ellis invites you to join in rewarding two high school seniors the opportunity to receive a scholarship towards college. In June 2019, after only 6 months of her passing, Ruby’s family gave out the first annual Ruby Allen Ellis Economic Empowerment Scholarship Award to two African-American female seniors to use toward college. This year, we want to double our efforts to empower these young students to continue to strive for excellence.
Ruby was a pillar of hope in our community. She dedicated her life to empowering everyone she came in contact with. She was the Chair of Economic Development for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated for many years and a leader in various other organizations. Ruby was a champion for education, economic development and she was a valiant community leader who made significant strides in the areas of coalition building among major organizations, government agencies and civic leaders, and enhanced project partnerships. Ruby saw the potential for greatness in our youth and was steadfast in empowering them to become leaders in our communities. She let her light shine and she wanted others to do the same. She was truly a jewel to all that knew her.
Please consider donating to the Ruby Allen Ellis Economic Empowerment Scholarship Fund. All donations are tax deductible and tax letters will be mailed out accordingly.
If sending checks, please make checks payable to Delta Economic Development Foundation. Attn: Ruby Allen Ellis Economic Empowerment Scholarship!
Thank you in advance as we continue to keep Ruby’s legacy of service and empowerment alive!
We ask for donations to be in no later than April 24th to be giving out at the Heroes Among Us Scholarship Banquet in May 2020.
The Family of Ruby Allen Ellis thanks you for your love and support!
Each one Empower one!
