I was accepted on short notice into UCLAs Center for Prehospital Care Paramedic Program. The issue is the program doesn’t qualify for student loans. The bare bones cost (tuition) of the program is $10k. The program is full time, 32hrs of classroom time every week for the next 4 months, followed by another 4 months of clinical and fire department field internships (unpaid). Add to that study time necessary (any grade below an 80% is considered a fail, and 93% is the lowest score on can get to receive an A), so dedicating time to studying is a absolute must. Obviously, working becomes impossible just by time constraints of the amount of hours in a 24 hour day. Please, help me further my education and career. Any questions please feel free to ask!
You might have seen my recent video post online. I was accepted to UCLAs Center for Prehospital Paramedic Program. Here’s the problem and why I decided to start a go fund me account. I applied for a student loan and was denied. The program is accredited, but is not part of title 4. Fancy speak saying that it doesn’t qualify for traditional student loan programs.
If I can’t come up with the money I’ll be dropped from the program. I’m trying for a personal loan, but as you could imagine, banks/credit unions aren’t too excited to hear that I won’t have time to work during this program. And personal loans don’t allow for deferred payment plans.
So, I decided to reach out. This is a huge career change and goal for me. The tuition cost is $10,000.00. That’s all I’m looking to raise. Other expenses take it near $15,000.00. If you can help, awesome. If you can’t, that okay, too. I’d greatly appreciate any amount you can give.
$10,000 Instruction and facilities fee paid directly to UCLA
Application/Test Registration Fee ($50/$50)
Textbooks (approx. $550)
Laboratory materials (approx. $100)
Clinical uniform (approx. $100)
Certification/Licensure Fees (approx. $650)
When you have an emergency you call 911 and wait impatiently for the Paramedics to show up and help you and/or your loved ones. Help become that person on the rescue ambulance that comes to your emergency.
Thank you…
