“Are you with me?”

Hello! We are Lynne Clark and Teresa Gates, longtime fans of Ruben V and weekly supporters at Bourbon & Branch. We are honored to organize this fundraiser to support Ruben in producing a new album.

It has been twelve years since Ruben released his last album in 2014. Since then, he has continued to write deeply personal music that remains unheard in CD form. A celebrated guitarist and songwriter, Ruben has been awarded “Best Guitar Player” four times, as well as “Best Songwriter” and “Best Blues Band” by the city of San Antonio.

In the fall of 2025, Ruben shared on Facebook that he planned to retire from performing as a band. The response from fans was overwhelming! On November 30, he reversed that decision, announcing instead that he would create a new record and “reinvent my state of mind and heart.”

Ruben writes from experiences he has lived and from the soul. His performances lift our spirits. He makes it a point during his shows to greet and connect with every fan, new and old and reminds us that we are not alone. Ruben continues to perform throughout South Texas and beyond, carrying that connection wherever he goes to his many fans.

We believe this dream of a new album can become a reality through the support of his large fan base. Our goal is to raise $20,000, which will be used for studio time, engineering, mixing and mastering, musicians, photography, design, and production of CD liners. All donations will go directly to the Ruben V account established for this project.

By contributing, you are helping ensure that songs like “Que Bonita Mamacita”, “You Are”, “Real Love”, “I’ll Be Here” and other new songs finally find their way into the world as an album.
