Ruben Gonzalez Romero, Wild land Firefighter

On August 24th, 2025 the wild land firefighting community lost a great hero. Ruben Gonzalez Romero passed away while fighting the Bivens Creek Fire in Montana due to a medical emergency.

Ruben had dedicated 20+ years of his life fighting fires. He offered experience, knowledge, and wisdom in every crew he worked in. His love for the saw was seen through his work ethic. Ruben passed away doing exactly what he loved. Working in the forest right next to his saw.

Ruben & his family have been receiving an immense amount of support from the public. His loss has touched many hearts. We appreciate and are grateful for everyone wanting to make donations to the Gonzalez Romero family. All funds collected through this GoFundMe page will go directly to Ruben's wife and kids.

El 24 de agosto de 2025, la comunidad de bomberos forestales perdió a un gran héroe. El señor Rubén González Romero falleció mientras combatía el incendio de Bivens Creek en Montana debido a una emergencia médica.

Rubén dedicó más de 20 años de su vida a combatir incendios. Aportó experiencia, conocimiento y sabiduría a cada equipo en el que trabajó. Su amor por la motosierra se reflejaba en su ética de trabajo. El Señor Rubén falleció haciendo exactamente lo que amaba: trabajar en el bosque junto a su motosierra.

Rubén y su familia han recibido un inmenso apoyo del público. Su pérdida ha conmovido a muchos. Agradecemos a todos los que desean hacer donaciones a la familia González Romero.
