It’s with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved Tata, Ruben Gallegos Durazo — a man who was the heart and soul of our family.

Born in Sonora, México, Tata lived a life of quiet dignity, hard work, and unconditional love. He was a skilled mechanic by trade, but to us, his greatest role was being a full-time grandfather. He had a way of fixing more than just engines — he mended scraped knees, broken hearts, and hard days with a warm hug, a soft chuckle, or just his calm, steady presence.

Tata was our rock. He taught us the value of hard work, respect, and family. Whether he was under the hood of a car or sitting in his favorite chair telling us stories from the old days, you always felt safe with him. He didn’t need fancy words — his love showed in every sacrifice he made, every meal he shared, and every moment he gave.

He came to this country with hope, grit, and dreams not for himself, but for the generations after him. And everything we are today — strong, rooted, and full of heart — is because of him.

Now, we’re reaching out in this time of grief to ask for help in laying him to rest with the dignity and peace he deserves. Funeral costs are difficult for our family to manage alone, and we want to honor Tata’s life in a way that reflects how much he meant to us.
