Hi Everyone,
Miss Kate is very excited to announce Stratosphere Performing Arts will be hosting its very first studio charity fundraiser.
On Thursday 12 September Stratosphere Performing Arts will be supporting RU OK Day. Students from our Dural & Beaumont Hills Studios will be invited to wear YELLOW to class in exchange for a gold coin donation.
Any student who donates $5.00 or more will receive a special RU OK Day cookie made by Kritter Kreations.
Miss Kate will be matching funds raised by the studio & donating to the RU OK Charity.
RU OK’s vision is a world where we’re all connected and are protected from suicide. Their mission is to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them and support anyone struggling with life.
This cause is a matter very close our our studio’s heart. Last year Miss Bec lost her beautiful cousin Meg to suicide which deeply impacted her family. Miss Bec’s resilience and strength during this tragic time was inspiring, however it is important to remember that even the strong need support. We live in an ever changing world. Miss Kate wants our dancers to feel like Stratosphere is a safe place for them to come and be themselves, express how they are feeling and reach out for support if they need it. Miss Kate would be extremely grateful if our students and families would engage with this upcoming fundraising initiative by:
- Wearing Yellow to class on Thursday 12/9/19 in exchange for a gold coin donation
- Donate $5.00 or more on 12/9/19 to receive a cookie from Kritter Kreations
- If you don’t have class on 12/9/19 please donate to our GO FUND ME support page
In an effort to create some awareness for this upcoming fundraiser Miss Kate is also hosting an RU OK Design competition. Students are invited to make an RU OK Day poster to be displayed on our Dural noticeboard partition. Miss Kate will choose a winner who will receive $100 Studio Credit Voucher. The winning poster will be the design which best represents the positive message which RU OK Day promotes and features dancing at Stratosphere PA in their design. In addition to this Miss Kate would LOVE students and parents to use our hashtag #SPARUOK in all your upcoming social media posts. This will link our dance community and identify to one another that we are committed to strengthening our friendships and by doing so change the social & emotional landscape & support network for our dancers.
