Support Ru's Recovery and Arlo's Future
This Valentine's Day, we welcomed our son Arlo into the world. We have been so blessed by his smiles and laughs. We feel especially blessed that we are all here together at home. There were many moments when I worried Arlo would grow up without a mother, and I would have lost my best friend in the whole world. Ru (AKA Donnelly) had to be rushed to the ER with a blood pressure of 187/111. At those levels, she was in danger of going into seizures. The doctors diagnosed her with preeclampsia, a potentially fatal illness affecting many new mothers. We spent our first month with Arlo constantly in and out of hospitals. I remember the moment I realized she was gonna make it, and the joy and relief that followed. She's doing better and better every day thanks to the hard work of so many doctors, nurses, and medical assistants, and the support of our church, family, and friends.
Unfortunately, the cost of recovery is high. After 4 hospital stays, 3 emergency room visits, and 3 ambulance rides, the bills have really started to pile up. We owe over $14,000 in medical bills for Ru and Arlo, and it just hasn't been possible to pay even the minimum payment on all of them at this time. If you can give, every little bit goes a long way in helping us get back on our feet and focus on raising our little Arlo. Thank you!
