I'm switching this fund to a memorial fund to help the family with funeral costs and lingering medical bills. Any and all support is greatly appreciated.

Friends, I'm asking for help for Cathy McManus.
You might know Cathy thru her daughter Anna in Venturing ( a senior at Allegan Public this year!). Or Nick with Cubs in Allegan or Troop 147 or maybe for his love of soccer (a junior at Allegan Public this year). Or you might know Cathy when she was our Boy Scout Lakeshore district Popcorn Kernal. Or maybe you know her from her many years at Allegan Public Schools.
However you know her or the kids, please know they need your help.
Cathy was diagnosed this summer with advanced colon cancer. Unfortunately, it wasn't found until after it had spread to her liver and lymph nodes.
Because of the advanced stage of her cancer, she had to quit her job in order to seek treatment. Right now, she is working her way thru heavy doses of chemo trying to shrink the tumors down. After 5 treatments, they'll evaluate her for surgery to try to remove what they can. Depending on what they find, they may choose to keep her on chemo longer before attempting surgery. More than likely, she'll be on chemo for quite a while.
We don't know how long this will take but do know that the medical bills are going to be astronomical. Next year with new deductibles and starting over on her out-of-pocket is really going to hit them hard. Plus, without an income, her and the kids are going to need to some help on a day-to-day basis.
We'll be setting up a meal brigade later this year and we'll probably be looking for help with rides for Cathy for her treatments and possibly the kids to some of their events.
Please help them out. Anything you can contribute will help them greatly.
