Hi! My name is Lady Janine Son, and I'm fundraising for my upcoming delivery of my first baby. (Temporary Foreign Worker with private insurance) This is an unplanned pregnancy; aborting the baby during the first few weeks was not an option because I did not like it.

I worked as a fish plant worker, and also the baby's father. But before the season started, my work permit extension was denied because the company's LMIA license had expired. So, the company restored my status, and I did not have a chance to work during the 2025 season. The hours of work in Newfoundland is not good also, so the father of the baby can't save a good amount to cover the whole delivery of the baby. Even though we still have private insurance, I called them on May 21, 2025, to inquire about emergency delivery/cesarean, and they said they only cover up to the 32nd week of pregnancy. I can't find other employer right now because I'm still on restoration of work permit.

I tried calling the midwives in Fredericton and Nova Scotia, they said they are full already.

I don't want to go home to our home country because my mother, siblings, grandmother, aunt, and some of my cousins are already here and have permanent status/citizenship.

I want to give birth here in Canada so the baby can stay with my family and will have a good quality of life.

I don't want to raise funds for myself, but my friend told me about this. I also want to help my mom because she is considering getting a loan for me. I'm due on September 05, 2025.
