On Monday, my best friend's dad unexpectedly passed away. She has been like a sister to me for 20+ years. I've always been included in their family gatherings, even holidays where it would normally be family only. I've fallen on rough times myself, but they always take care of me whether it's food or help dealing with medical paperwork.

Her father had multiple life insurance policies that should have provided them with the funding to take care of the expenses of his death, but they are finding every reason not to pay out, and the bills are already beginning to pile up.
