Danielle (a 27 year old single mother)  and her 7 year old son were involved in a 2 car accident on Thursday January 27 2022. Both were life flighted from the scene to UNC Chapel Hill hospital. Danielle will be out of work while she recovers from her injuries. She underwent abdominal surgery and has broken bones. Her son sustained multiple lacerations requiring sutures and underwent a 4 hour spinal surgery.  His recovery will involve numerous  PT sessions as he learns how to adjust to the rods that impede movement while the spine heals. 

Medical bills and the cost of living will prove to be a challenge due to unexpected loss of work.  Her only vehicle has been totaled, which compounds the stress of the entire situation.
