We don’t know what cruel trauma Ruby suffered as a puppy that left her with no back feet or tail. All we know is that she is loving, sweet, and playful! She loves going for hikes in her wheelchair, wrestling at the dog park, snuggling in laps, and just took her first swim lesson. 

But there is a painful problem with one of her back legs. The bone is too close to the skin, causing it to protrude through the thin layer of flesh when she moves. This causes her discomfort, bleeding, and infections. We are raising money for surgery to correct this issue, and she is sadly on crate rest until the surgery can take place. This is not good for the emotional well-being of a very active puppy! She doesn’t understand that we are also getting a new, larger wheelchair and a prosthetic limb for her... all she knows is that she wants to run and play like everyone else!
