For those of you that don't know me my name is Kevin Gipson I'm 27 years old born and raised in San Diego, California (CLMT). I'm a survivor of Hogkins Lymphoma. At 10 years old I went through 10 months of chemo and radiation treatment. In February, 17 years later, I had surgery to remove half of my thyroid that had two noduals. At the time of the surgery the biopsy showed no cancer. After a more through biopsy was done, I was told at an office visit March 2nd that in one of the noduals removed there was cancer. Some was also found in a blood cell. I'm currently waiting for the second surgery to remove the second half of my thyroid, which also has a nodual that the doctors are now concerned about. The second surgery is going to be a hospital stay this time and I'm not sure if radiation treatment will be nessisary until after the second surgery.

The bills are coming in even with my insurance. The first surgery was done as an out patient surgery and was $2,700. The second is a hospital stay and I'm sure it's going to be more expensive. I'm getting disability but it's nothing compared to what I make when working it actually works out to $38 a day. But I still have bills and not being able to work has made things more difficult.
