Dear nationalist sons and daughters of the Oromo people,
Radio Voice of Independent Oromia (RVIO) has been broadcasting to Oromia and the world for the last two years.
Not affiliated with any political organization but an independent radio program, RVIO works to contribute to the achievement of the freedom of our people and the liberation and reestablishment of a democratic state of Oromia where justice reigns supreme. To that end, RVIO serves, exclusively, as a voice for Oromo forces struggling for the liberation of Oromia. It also collects news of the Oromo struggle from across Oromia and delivers them to its listeners both in Oromia and the diaspora. RVIO has been broadcasting its programs once a week to Oromia over Short Wave frequencies and twice a week over the internet - via social media and at www.indpendentorima.org – to the diaspora. In addition, it has recently begun seven (7) days a week satellite and over the phone broadcasting to Oromia and the entire world.
As you can imagine, running and sustaining such a radio program requires resources including skilled human resources, time and finances. Given the state of affairs in which we find the Oromo struggle currently, we believe the need for this radio program is becoming even more acute while the resources to produce, develop it further and sustain it are acutely lacking. To date, a few of us have borne this burden and continue to do everything we can to sustain the program. However, it has now gotten to the point where it cannot survive much longer without financial support from other Oromo sons and daughters who share its mission of contributing to the achievement of the freedom of our people and the liberation and reestablishment of a democratic Oromia. As a result, we are forced to appeal to all Oromo nationalists to contribute to its sustenance and growth.
Consequently, we call on all Oromo sons and daughters who share the objectives of this radio program to make financial contributions towards the running and sustenance of it without delay. While we are grateful to those of you, our listeners, who have contacted us to express your appreciation of quality of our programs and your support for the mission of the radio program, we ask you to now come thru with your financial contributions to keep your radio on the air.
