For those of you who know me, my story of chronic pain is not new. Even if you’re aware, my journey to this point has not been easy... I've suffered extreme, sometimes excruciating pain for over 10 years only to have various doctors tell me nothing was wrong with me. I knew something wasn’t right and being told you’re imagining the whole thing is terrible. Women have been going through this for years. Last April (2017), my pain got so much worse... to the point of being hospitalized multiple times with radiating pain down my legs, pelvis and up my back, arms, and head. I was experiencing nausea to the point of dehydration, passing out and so weak I was unable to stand up at times. Pain effects everyone differently, but the nausea usually turns into vomiting. I’m under 100 lbs right now, emaciated and unable to keep food down because of the constant and debilitating pain.

My life has fallen apart due to being so sick and unable to work full time. I was determined to find a doctor that could help me figure out what’s going on and help with the debilitating pain I struggle with almost daily now. I finally found one and had to leave my home in New Orleans to move to Denver to see my first pelvic pain specialist. I'm scheduled for my first laparoscopic surgery for Endometriosis on March 7th. My insurance will cover some of it, but I'm in need of some help with living costs during my recovery. I would never ask unless I absolutely needed it. Please consider giving anything you can, even $20 will help. Thank you so much. Love, Cori

About endometriosis: Endometriosis is a disease that affects one of the most unrecognized parts of a woman’s life, her period. It is a very personal and intimate aspect of women’s health and can be thought of as a disease of menstruation. Endometriosis occurs when the tissue that lines the uterus (endometrium), is found in regions outside of the uterus, in other words, where the tissue should not be. It affects around one in every ten women and is mostly unrecognizable, misdiagnosed, and mistreated. Currently, there is no cause of endometriosis is not known.
