RSMA 5th Grade Camping Trip

Hello!

It goes without saying that the past two years have been difficult for all of us. It has forced us to isolate and spend months in front of screens. Few have felt the effects of the pandemic as much as students. For our students at Riverside School for Makers and Artists (RSMA), school represents a sense of community and a sense of belonging. Remote learning, quarantines, and seemingly endless Zooms eliminated so much of what our students love and need from school. Now that our students are coming to the end of their elementary career, we are hoping to provide an end of year celebration unlike any other!

UPDATE: With life returning to more normalcy, and this academic year winding down, we are looking to take this amazing group of 5th graders on a camping trip. This trip is an opportunity for the kids to connect with each other and escape the hustle of the city. We will be attending the Taconic Outdoor Education Center, where the students will have the opportunity to partake in team-building activities, environmental education, and star-gazing. For many of our students, this will be their first chance to experience the wonders of unplugging from technology and experiencing the beauty of nature.

In order for this trip to be accessible to all of our students, we need to rely heavily on fundraising and donations. Funds will help us cover:
