Please Help in Raising $50,000 for Empowerment of Adolescent Rural Girls Through Value Based Education In Rajasthan, India.

Rajasthan Samgrah Kalyan Sansthan (RSKS India) is a grassroots organization based in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. Since 1992, we have been a pioneer in promoting of womens’ empowerment, girls’ education, gender equality, and children's rights for those living in rural areas of Rajasthan.

What are we looking to do?

This project will provide a quality education to the most marginalized adolescent girls in inaccessible rural areas. Through this project, more than 200 girls from five remote rural areas will be empowered through education and will also receive life skills and leadership training. In addition to sexual and reproductive health information.

We estimate that for every educated girl, she will help impact the lives of a minimum of 10 other people in her life, leading to better outcomes for herself, her family, and her community.

What problem will this solve?

India has the highest rate of illiterate adults, with an overall literacy rate of 77.7%. Rajasthan, where RSKS works, has recorded the lowest literacy rate of 57.6% for women in the country. Reports find that 43.7% of women in the age five and above have never had any formal education or enrolled themselves in any educational institution.

Additionally, in this devastating time of the COVID-19 pandemic, the girls who were getting education are now at home without receiving an education,as rural schools lack resources to teach online. We also saw in the previous lockdown that child marriage, female abuse and other acute issues for girls rose. Access to essential resources such as sanitary napkins were limited.

How will we solve this problem?

The rural adolescent girls will be empowered through various activities at “Patshala Schools” or informal schools run by RSKS India. Through this project, 200 girls from five rural areas will be empowered through education. Along with education they will also be able to act as leaders because of life skill training, leadership training, and capacity building training provided by RSKS India. RSKS India will support also support these rural girls during the COVID-19 pandemic with the following:

 - RSKS India will start virtual classes so girls can get education while at home
- RSKS India will organize poster making competition by the girls to create awareness about the covid-19 pandemic
- RSKS India will use these posters to make others and the girls will be spreading awareness to their family, friends and community
- RSKS India will provide helpline numbers to girls so that they can be assisted in cases of abuse, potential marriage or other issue
 - Also, RSKS India will also provide hygiene kits, education materials, sanitary pads to girls so they can stay healthy and continue their education at home

Education is such a powerful tool that can change the whole world. Girls will be educated and provide good leadership. These adolescent girls, through education, will also stop other issues like dowry, female feticide, and child marriage. These girls will get a chance to study outside their village and will get a chance to become what they want. Most importantly, the project will bring CHANGE...

CHANGE In Male Dominated Society....
CHANGE In Girls not being Preferred for Higher Education...
CHANGE In Girls Doing Only Household Work...
CHANGE In literacy rate....
CHANGE In the problem of school drop-out and illiteracy

We as RSKS India, we want this change and we hope that you ALL want it too

What is the budget needed?

Our aim is to fundraise for $50,000. RSKS India will organize 5 Pathshala schools for 200 girl children and provide them quality education. 50% of funds will be utilized in covering teachers expenses, 30% will cover education materials (books, copies, pencil, pen, drawing books etc.) and 20% will cover registration, outreach activities, administrative expenses, rent, observation materials, and overhead expenses.
