Rachel Needs Our Help!

My dear niece, Rachel Anderson, has faced numerous challenges in her life that have left her feeling desperate. She has endured difficult experiences throughout her childhood and teenage years, including instances of abuse. Tragically, her oldest brother was brutally murdered when Rachel was nineteen, a crime that remains unsolved. Being the last family member to see him alive, she carries an overwhelming sense of grief and heartbreak for such a devastating loss.

Despite these hardships, Rachel has persevered and sought ways to cope. She managed to support herself through college and achieved the remarkable feat of being the first in her family to graduate, obtaining a degree in education. She met a compassionate partner, married, and became a mother to twin boys. However, at just six months old, both her sons were diagnosed with autism. As her children have grown, now reaching the age of eight, the demands of parenting them alongside Rachel's own mental well-being have proven insurmountable. Her marriage has also come to an end, further adding to her struggles. After years of desperately trying to hold everything together, Rachel experienced a significant emotional breakdown. However, she took the commendable step of seeking help through AA and has remained sober for two years.

Nevertheless, her past traumas, the needs of her twin sons, the unresolved death of her brother, the ending of her marriage, and various other factors have become overwhelming for Rachel. She is emotionally shattered and on the brink of having no home. Multiple hospitalizations under suicide watch in the past six months highlight the severity of her situation. She lost her teaching job and is unable to provide a healthy environment for her children or herself. Navigating the healthcare system has proven to be a desperate struggle.

At this critical juncture, Rachel is unable to work or care for herself. Her days are spent in a heavily medicated state, unable to function. Rachel dedicated herself to a three-month outpatient psychiatric program focused on acquiring tools for emotional regulation and distress tolerance. Sadly, her mental and emotional problems persist, and she finds herself questioning her identity. She feels lost.

In this state of crisis, Rachel urgently requires long-term, inpatient treatment of high quality to address her trauma. Unfortunately, her insurance does not cover this type of care, which carries a cost of $25,000 at The Life Healing Center in Santa Fe. Any contribution you can offer to help Rachel access the necessary inpatient care would be immensely appreciated.

With heartfelt gratitude from Rachel and her family, thank you for your time, consideration, and compassion.
