My dad let my sister, Sassy and I out back for some exercise and fresh air. We got a little carried away and ventured further from home-and Dad- than we realized. Big sis (after witnessing my ordeal), returned home alone, so Dad set off again to find me. Mom, Dad and my sisters were so worried and hoped I was ok and safe!


Unfortunately, I was struck by a vehicle- sustaining external and internal injuries. I am so grateful to the kind stranger finding and taking me to MU Veterinarian Emergency Department. I am also extremely grateful to the doctors and support staff taking such great care of me!! And finding mom & dad!!


The vet informed my family that my left hind leg is broken in 2 places. Also, given my age (~11 yrs.), and injuries, my lungs and kidneys need close monitoring.

 
My family were able to cover the cost when I was initially brought in last night. However, as explained by my doctor, I require surgery to repair my leg to be a good as new! My family is unable to afford such a critical operation at this time; and would therefore we would be eternally grateful for any contributions made towards my hospitalization, and impending surgery. Please know 100% of all donated funds will be applied to my direct medical care, which will include (in part):

 

-        All hospitalizations (ICU, general)

-        Surgery

-        Laboratory panels (blood, urine, culture)

-        IV fluids

-        Imaging (x-ray, ultrasound)

-        Medications

 

As of today, December 22nd, my family consented to surgery; scheduled Christmas Eve, and I would therefore miss Christmas with my family.

My family and I would like to thank each and every one of you for your generosity and support during this unexpected and unfortunate circumstance. Hopefully I can have my surgery and return to my family to enjoy the rest of the holiday season!!!
