HELP SAVE LUNA ❤️

UPDATE June 4

Luna went down hill fast . Yesterday we called in a vet to do assessment . She gave her valum through the catheter and for the first time she didn't have twitching and her rapid 50-70 breaths per min ( which was constant and dangerous ) slowed to the normal breathing rate . She finally had peace and a break from the constant jolt of her body and head . The vet said since her body was completely paralyzing and next phase would be not eating - with the constant attack and twitching on her central nervous system - there was still a little chance of survival considering how far this disgusting virus went with her . Also " if " she did survive there would most likely be brain damage . And paralysis . She was suffering
We made the gut wrenching decision out of love to not let her return to her tortuous world of hell . She looked at me earlier that day so hopeless and in pain .
We did everything under the sun for that beautiful soul that we owed it to her to give her freedom and peace for eternity .
She finally has her peace .
We are so very sad and devastated because she was such a beautiful soul who deserved more then what this cruel world did to her .
But one thing is though it all she knew love , affection and care though us .
All of us including Luna …….from the bottom of our hearts …..appreciate all who supported her and contributed to her medical care and fight to stay here . She was able to feel Love and affection for the time she was here and that’s what matters most . When you see the moon shining bright in the night , please think of Luna shinning in the sky.
Her name was Luna Sky - Moon in the sky .
She will always be remembered ! Sweet girl .

UPDATE JUNE 3

Unfortunately, we have not seen much improvement for Luna. We've done everything under the sun including protocols even outside the box that are used with good success rates , but it is this attack on her nervous system that is just horrendous to watch and see . She has lost ability and strength to walk on all of her four legs . Even the walking could regenerate if enough healing occurred, but it's the central nervous system that's constantly getting attacked and she is twitching nonstop through her body. It would take caregivers and a strict round the clock regimented plan to see her through on the other side of this ..... but even then there is no guarantees.
Today Luna still loves to eat but she sleeps most of the day and we are not feeling as hopeful.
Please say a prayer for this little baby who has been through so much.
UPDATE FOR LUNA
Sunday , May 29.

We have upped the anti with Luna’s care as she is in the throws of the neurological stage of Distemper .
Once again , thank you everyone for being a part of Luna’s battle to fight her distemper.
If we are able to continue to raise the funds needed for her, this will permit us to continue to give her the best care possible for this terrible virus .
Luna who had a rough beginning here on this earth was dumped after being used for her puppies …she ended up at San Bernardino shelter where she got ill . What was originally thought to be a remainder of the kennel cough was really the beginning, stage 1 distemper . The 3rd stage , where she is at now is the worst deadliest part as it attacks her central nervous system .
Why we are fighting for her ? Because she is still fighting ! She eats better then any dog I have every seen eat ! Her appetite is huge! She eats many meals a day and she loves it . She is finally beginning to gain weight from the bony frail body she had coming out of the shelter . She is such a love.

please keep her in your prayers

We have Chelsea , a vet tech from Dr Slaton’s veterinarian facility from Westlake , coming daily to do Vitamin C infusions , fluid flushing and hydration . If we can swing it , we would like to continue this for Luna . We also are thinking of hiring Chelsea to do some physical therapy to re fire up her muscles .
We continue supplementing her with various immunity boosting packets and bottles such as Turkey Turkey Tail ( mushroom powder ) Clinical Immunity , Lions Mane 4x , CBD oil , Cod Liver Oil , probiotics , 2 kinds of antibiotics , -phenobarbital and Gabapentin(for her body twitches ),
interferon injections. Pumpkin and goats milk and more . They are given to her in certain segments . Her food is all natural including Chicken breasts , fresh vegetables ( broccoli, carrots , spinach and rice made almost
daily ..
All this is costing thousands so any donations is immensely appreciated .

Distemper is unforgiving and it’s very devastating to watch it unfold .

This is a hard battle and we are hoping and praying Luna can make it through.
Please …Please forward this and we appreciate any help . This also includes help with Luna when we go to NYC - Anyone with a big heart who can contribute time and some hands on would be amazing .)

Today is May 27th .
Luna is healing in many areas except she is currently struggling with the use and strength of her back rear legs . Sadly the distemper attacked her nervous system and this now has prevented main use of her back legs as well as body twitches and ticks .
We are making every effort possible to see if we can regenerate her nerves and strength .
Thank you again to everyone for donating and supporting Luna’s recovery . She is such a fighter !
We have a vet tech that will come out and give her Vitamin C injections 2 x per day and the plan would be to begin her physical rehab with same vet tech which would be amazing if we can make it happen .. Please help make this possible for her and forward this Go Fund Me so we can provide this for her . We are giving her the best fighting chance to help her legs work again .
Please keep Luna in your thoughts and Prayers

Luna Sky

Hello everybody.

Luna is very slowly recovering, yet still has the neurological residuals of the distemper. She is eating and sleeping well.
URGENT
I Am leaving in less than 2.5 weeks, for about a month. Luna needs to continue to get love and care to help her pull thru, while I’m gone. I am pleading for someone who has time and love to offer, if even for a 2-3 weeks.

HER BASIC NEEDS:
A lot of help walking, as she continues to fall.
Needs moist food prepared (it’s easy)
Plus added immune supplements (I will supply all)
Needs to stay hydrated with water and SubQ hydration (only if needed)
NEEDS to be close, NOT crated ( but can be for small amounts of time) Wants to be touching someone and needs ALL THE LOVE to pull thru this. She loves to snuggle !

We are a family of full-time working adults, twins that need our attention and we cannot sustain the amount of time and care she needs.
We desperately need a caregiver to take over for beautiful Luna during . We have her on a really good protocol and she’s having some good moments and not such a good moments but she deserves a chance to see if this can be turned around after everything this poor soul has been through.
PLEASE HELP US TO FIND A CAREGIVER TO CONTINUE HER FIGHT AND DONATE TO HELP CONTINUED CARE

Luna ( originally named Wolfie at San Bernardino Shelter ) Rescued May 8 from being Euthanized . Came out of a cold horrible pen with no bed just hard floor after giving birth to puppies she lost , nobody is clear if they died or was taken and she was dumped on the streets … she came out severely Malnourished, Gravely underweight , anemic, and very sick :( We are her foster care and through all of this she is the most gentle sweet cuddly love bug and special girl and is ALL LOVE . We just adore this precious girl but need help is needed and a possible better recovery atmosphere for now or temp place to recover . It takes a village !

UPDATE 5/19
Luna was confirmed by Horizon Hospital diagnosed with distemper .
Our hearts our crushed !
Her rescue is moving forward with treatment and we are still her Foster Care . She is staying at some friends of Rescue just for a few days and they are treating her distemper and treating her bad case of pneumonia..
We desperately need a loving home to help continued care until she tests negative .
Sadly with two kids here in a small place and people in and out plus our own small dog this wouldn’t be the ultimate atmosphere for Luna to have this kind of continued support . This girl yearns for love and petting and affection. All she wants to do is cuddle . She has grown big on our hearts and we just adore her gentle sweet loving disposition .
She is one of the sweetest most special dog we have ever met ! It is truly just impossible not to fall in love with her . We all pray she comes out on the other side . We will update her current condition as soon as we know .
Funds are appreciated and helps Luna as we are needing support for her continued care . We took it upon ourself to put out $3200 at the Horizon Hospital and continued care for her will be in the thousands . Thank you to everyone who is supporting and helping this baby girl make it on the other side .
❤️❤️❤️❤️

Update as of 5/18

All symptoms are pointing towards Distemper
We are just waiting for confirmation if so … any day from Horizon . She has a bad case of Multifocal bronchopneumonia, with cough and nasal discharge: We we’re having a hard time keeping our dog and Luna separated in a tiny place with kids and friends in and out so for now she is being cared for from friends of another rescue and they are beginning their own Distemper Protocol as they did a Rapid PCR test and it showed positive . They also have her in an oxygen tent . They are just keeping her a few days to see if they can get her better and then we will have her back. However she needs more then us involved for reasons of our work schedule and kids in and out with our own dog here . We are looking for anyone who can give Luna a loving place to heal and treat her during her recovery . She is probably the sweetest most docile gentle dog we ever met and it’s impossible not to fall in love with her . She has been through so so much . Current bill at Horizon was $3200 ( $650 fronted from a donor ) the rest was taken out of our ballet school funds for our daughter and fronted . We are trying to offset this plus all future meds and care for this . Thank you to everyone who has chipped in to support this beautiful dogs less then graceful journey . She has a long haul ahead of her so please pass this story around and we appreciate any support . If you know anyone who can help care for this sweet girl please let us know as time is of the essence and she will be released from the current place shortly. If we had enough funds she would need to be hospitalized as well for fluids and treatment which will give her a better chance to recover. ❤️❤️❤️

See below for all past posts of step by step journey of Luna ( Who was originally named Wolfie from the San Bernardino Shelter )
short version - she was brought in after recently giving birth to puppies but no puppies came with we are just finding out ) she was malnourished at only 30 lbs ( for a husky and Sheppard ) gravely underweight , amemic, malnourished, terrified and sleeping on a cold hard floor there she was placed on the Euthanize list and became sick at the shelter . A rescue pulled her out and brought her to us . We had no idea she was this sick and now she is fighting for her life .
Luna is approx 2 years old and all she wants is love and to pet and cuddle . She is a beautiful girl with a beautiful soul who just wants to live . What a miracle if she comes out on the other side of this . ❤️❤️

PLEASE SEE MOST RECENT UPDATE AFTER READING ORIGINAL POST
For a shorter Read ( Luna is being transferred to Horizon Animal Hospital as she will need blood transfusions and further testing to resolve her horrific condition ) At only 2 years old we are hoping to not say Goodbye as she has had a tragic start to life . We are fostering her but she is beyond sweet and special so asking for funds and support to save her and give her a second lease at life ) Time is of the essence

This is Luna . She is Sheppard and Husky mix . She is such a sweet girl but she is not well .
She was used for breeding in a backyard for the short 2 years of this baby girls life . She was taken to the San Bernardino shelter with puppies . Left in a cold hard floor , her puppies were taken away from her . So after losing her puppies she became depressed , stopped eating and became very ill at the shelter . She was on the Euthanize list due to overcrowding and illness but a rescue got her out of the horrendous pound . She is now fighting for her life . She is extremely anemic , fighting an infection and it’s unknown if she has internal bleeding . In order to save her she will need extensive testing and treatment , ultrasounds and x rays and IV fluids . The rescue has some funds but not the kind of funds to do all these tests . Also for her to recover she will need to be on fluids regularly . This will cost thousands. We are asking for donations to give this girl who is malnourished , anemic , and has been treated like dirt and most likely abused a second chance at life .
She is too young to die like this
Please share this Go Fund Me and any help and support is very appreciated for Luna. We want to see her pull though this
❤️❤️❤️
