Hello,
My name is Annalysha Silva, and I'd like to share a little about my beloved brother, Israel Pena. He wasn't just a brother to me; he was my role model and inspiration. From sports to academics, he led the way, and I eagerly followed to be just like him. He was the coolest person in the world to me. His charismatic personality could light up any room. He had a unique ability to connect with people as if they'd known each other for years. If you had the pleasure of meeting my brother, you probably left with a smile on your face. That was his gift, he was a peoples’ person. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds; he was always there to lend a helping hand to those in their time of need.
It's with a heavy heart that I share the news that we lost Israel on August 17th. His infectious smile, his vibrant character, and his way with words are memories that I will forever hold dear. Knowing he's reunited with our Grandma Box in heaven brings a measure of comfort, even though the pain of his absence is profound.
In his passing, Israel continues to make a difference as a registered organ donor. Even in death, his selflessness lives on, touching and improving the lives of others. He remains a source of inspiration, reminding me to live generously and fully.
Israel was living in California when we received the call, and my family and I made the journey to say our final goodbyes. However, our financial situation is strained, especially after my mother's recent challenges. She underwent throat surgery, traveled for oncology appointments, and is now facing a second surgery for newly discovered thyroid cancer. As we navigate these difficult times, the expenses have added up, and we need help to cover the costs of Israel's cremation services.
We are aiming to raise $1,500, which would not only cover Israel's cremation but also allow us to bring him back to Texas, where we can spread his ashes in a place he loved. While my mom is reluctant to ask for help, I believe that our community's support can ease some of our burdens during this trying period.
If you're able to contribute, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to us. Your kindness and generosity will help honor Israel's memory and provide much-needed relief to my family during this challenging time. From the depths of my heart, I thank you for taking the time to read our story.
With sincere gratitude,
Annalysha Silva
